RE: Train your puppy fast!
Dear Frustrated New Puppy Owner:
This may be the most important letter about training your puppy you ever read.
And in the next few minutes you're going to get several easy and very effective puppy training methods you can use immediately so you can see for yourself that what I share with you to help you train your puppy works (every time!)...
What you'll discover in the next few minutes is very effective, proven and easy to do.
If what you want is to finally help your puppy behave and listen to you so you can spend more time enjoying her instead of being frustrated, tired, angry or, if you are like I was, yelling all of the time -- then you are in the right place.
Help, And a Gift For You...
In this letter I'm going to give you 3 different puppy training secrets that you can use right now, today, to help you immediately begin to get your puppy under control and listening to you better than she ever has -- even if you don't believe that she can right now.
These three valuable insights are just a few of the methods that I've uncovered over the past few years of research and practice to help my family deal with our own puppy, Bear (well... he's not actually a puppy anymore!).
"If your goal is to eliminate frustration and help your new puppy become a happy member of your family... these simple strategies and methods work!"
I'm sharing these with you today because once you see how these 3 simple secrets for training your puppy work so well, you'll recognize how valuable this information is and you'll want to find out more.
It wasn't that long ago that we brought home Bear, our little whirlwind Schipperke (pronounced "Skip-er-kee") puppy.
If you have never seen a Schipperke before, here's a picture of Bear so you can get an idea of what he looks like and why we call him Bear (he looks just like a little bear, doesn't he?!).
We
Had to Get Bear
Under Control, and Fast.

Especially once you realize how much responsibility owning a puppy is... If you know nothing about training puppies, then things can get out of control pretty quickly, can't they?
I remember talking to my husband about taking Bear back... as lovable and cute and fun as he was, he was starting to become more than I could handle -- just trying to keep him from chewing up our furniture or my shoes was making me crazy!
Not too mention...
- ... keeping him from going potty
on our
carpet whenever he felt like it.
- ... trying to get him to stop running, jumping,
"nibbling"
and panting all of the time -- and shedding because of
his nerves due to my constant yelling at him.
- ... having to listen to him
whine all night
when we left him in the laundry room (I know what you are probably
thinking... but we did quit leaving him there by himself at night and
I'll share a secret with you in a minute about what we discovered that
solved this problem... and made Bear very happy!) because
if we let him out, he'd wreak havok on my shoes again (once, he even
got ahold of my Coach pocketbook!!) or potty all over the house!
- ... always being in fear I'd
step on the
little guy because he was constantly under my feet in
the kitchen or wherever I walked... even though he seemed to be afraid
of me half of the time... ARGH!!
- ... trying to teach him to stop licking or jumping on our little boy or guests who visited... generally, after peeing on the floor because he was so happy to see them. DOUBLE ARGH!
And what's worse, the poor little guy wet himself every time I walked into the room because he just seemed to know that I was going to yell at him which made him... I discovered... nervous and confused around me.
Bear
Was Becoming
Too Much
To Deal With And We
Needed Help.
I won't go into all of the details here, this isn't about us or Bear after all, but what I will share with you is what my best friend said to me one afternoon about two weeks after we got Bear...
"Heather, if you don't figure out how to help Bear listen to you and become a part of your family, then not only do you lose a great little puppy who is full of energy and love, but he'll also lose a wonderful family too... you've got to figure out how to train him."
For me, that was a wake up call... either I do something now, or both Bear and our family would end up with consequences that we'd all rather avoid...
The "Dog Whisperer?"
My friend was right... if we didn't figure out how to help Bear listen, we were going to have to take him back and that would have been the last time we tried having a puppy for our family and our little boy.
Maybe you are here today because you're experiencing the same kinds of challenges with your new puppy?
Truth is, raising a puppy is just like raising a child in many ways... and like children, each puppy is different.
However... there are some things that all puppies have in common that, once you understand them, can help you become a better puppy-parent!
One evening my husband and I were flipping through the TV channels, our son was playing with Bear on the floor, and we saw a man talking to a dog owner who was trying to teach his VERY LARGE Rottweiler to not drag him around every time they went for a walk.
You might know the TV show... the dog trainer is known as "The dog whisperer."
We were amazed at how easily the trainer was able to teach the dog how to properly walk behind his owner.
What we immediately recognized from that short TV show, was that we were going about teaching Bear all wrong...
We
Were Trying to Teach Him
Like a Human -- Not a DOG!
Think of it this way... if you had a teacher who was talking to you in a foreign language and expecting you to understand everything they said immediately -- and who yelled at you every time you didn't understand them, how well would you learn?
It was doggy psychology 101.
After watching that TV show my husband and I purchased many books, videos, and other programs, some even from the TV program we watched that night.
We spent a lot of time and money (these materials are expensive!) on these and started sifting through each of them, writing down the things that worked -- and those methods that did not work.
In fact, that is what we've put together in our Proper Puppy Training guide for you, so you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars and weeks figuring it all out through trial and error on your own like we did.
I'll give you more information about that in a few minutes, first... let me give you one of the most important secrets that we discovered to help you train your puppy.
We cover this in much more detail in the Proper Puppy Training guide of course, but this should get you started and help you see some quick results if you take a few minutes to understand it and try it for yourself.
Learning
To "Speak Puppy"
A Closer Look
At the Language
of Dogs...
Dogs have a language of their own and here is a very important lesson that once we understood it, helped us to train Bear so much easier and more effectively! We realized that...
"It's a LOT easier for you to learn to "Speak Puppy" than it is for your puppy to learn to speak human!"
You would think we'd see that without having to be told about it, huh?
Unfortunately, many puppy owners spend their time trying to teach their puppy to think and understand human and end up frustrated and disappointed -- I know I was!
"Speaking
Puppy"
Is Very Easy.
Below are several important puppy training insights that help you teach your puppy to listen to you and be more trainable -- all which are spoken in very clear "Puppy talk" so they understand.
- Your puppy or older dog needs to
know that
you are the alpha dog, the pack leader, the one in charge. You
will find it very difficult to succeed in any training at all until
this is understood by your puppy.
This is easy to establish once you know several very simple practices that will let your puppy understand that you lead, she follows. Anger and yelling are NOT needed to establish your dominance in the family (pack).
If you adopted your puppy and removed her from her litter before she was 12 weeks old, this might be more challenging for you to do, but you can still help her see that you are the pack leader and she needs to listen to you.
Why is week 12 so important?
Because during weeks 8 - 12 while still with her Mother, brothers and sisters she'll discover how to be a dog and learn ranking (who’s in charge). If a puppy has been removed from the mother and littermates within the first 8 weeks or so then the chances of her retaining traits that are socially acceptable or playful might be lost.
A puppy needs stability just like a baby.
- Rewarding good behavior will get
you the
results you want faster than punishing bad behavior.
Always show approval at signs of submission and praise your puppy when she is submissive to you.
You do not want to be so assertive that your pet is in constant fear of you (this was a big mistake I personally made right from the beginning out of frustration... it backfired on me and took time to fix the damage that I had done...). Very few dogs will actually test your dominance -- once established, your leadership role sticks.
This is so important to understand!
- Dogs and puppies like to be where
the family
is at...
When Bear was in the laundry room he would bark and whine and yelp no matter how much yelling or disapproval I expressed.
If I closed the door in our kitchen (which you could see from the laundry room) so he couldn't see us eating dinner - it would get worse!
When my husband and I understood how important being around the family was to puppies (and adult dogs too!), we experimented with letting Bear out of his room and guess what? He would lay down on the floor, quiet and content, just being happy not to be separated from the family!
Amazing.
I was not going to let him out until he quit barking and whining and the way to help him stop whining and barking was to let him out!
Imagine where we'd be today if I had never learned that? I shudder at the thought...
So, although these are just a few of the valuable
insights we
share with you inside of Proper Puppy Training,
and they may seem simple, use them and you will see immediate results
with your puppy.
We go into much more detail about how to effectively establish yourself
as the alpha dog and pack leader inside of the Proper Puppy
Training guide.
Once you understand the basics, training your puppy is really very easy to do. You won't need hundreds of dollars in videos or in-depth courses... its simply not that complicated once you understand the few KEY secrets for training your puppy or older dog.
You'll also discover how to convey
what you
want to your puppy in very clear puppy language so she'll listen and
obey you without any yelling or frustration at all...
In fact, with only two words for each command you
want your puppy to obey, you are actually enjoying
training your puppy with great results.
A Short Story...
Bear was afraid of me, like I mentioned earlier.
Because I didn't understand him or how to teach him at all... my reaction was to just yell or point out what he did and then put him in the laundry room and close the door!
I was not a good teacher or pack leader for little Bear when we first brought him home and he began pottying all over my house at will and chewing my Coach pocketbook and dress shoes - nobody messes with my Coach bag or my shoes!
I had no idea how to get him to learn - which was not his fault of course, it was mine.
Then it happened...
One afternoon after a particularly long day at work I came home with my son and we let Bear outside to go potty... which he did just fine.
My son usually likes to eat something after school before doing his homework and he was in the living room eating his snack, watching TV and playing with Bear.
About fifteen minutes later Michael comes into the kitchen and puts his bowl in the sink, sits down at the kitchen table and begins doing his homework.
"Where's Bear?" I ask him... "He's in the living room" Michael says.
When I go to the living room - no Bear.
We have a missing puppy - Bear has gone AWOL (Absent WithOut Leave). After calling several times and looking in the kitchen and laundry room I ask Michael to help me find our little fugitive.
About five minutes later, from the front entrance to our home I hear Michael call me... "Mom, stay in the kitchen - I'll bring Bear there in a second."
Mom's instincts kick in - and I head to the front door where I discovered several very disturbing events had transpired.
Under my sons jacket was a small lump moving around - which at first was funny and I smiled at Michael and commented "Aww, isn't that cute... he snuck under your jacket." But Michael wasn't smiling.
When I went to the jacket and lifted it up... what I saw horrified me. Bear had gotten my lipstick out of my pocketbook, also under Michael's jacket... and it was not a pretty site. Not only was lipstick all over the carpet and my brand new Coach pocketbook - but it was also all over Bear!
Ruby Red #17 smeared all over everything - pitch black puppy and all.
When Bear looked at me he stopped chewing, stood up, tucked in his little nub of a cropped tail bone then as I spoke my first word... "You litt..." he peed on the floor... and my pocketbook... and my wallet which had fallen out and that I now noticed had a chewed leather corner on it as well.
This was the final straw and Michael knew it... he grabbed Bear (holding him at arms length because by now Bear had stepped in his pee and his feet were soaked) and kept me from getting to him.
Good thing too... it might have been the only flying Schipperke in history, because I was ready to toss that little terror outside like an NFL quarterback throwing what my husband calls a "hail Mary!"
I sat down, calmed down, and cried. It was just too much.
When Bryan got home I told him that Bear had to go... and that was the night that we saw the TV show.
One More Chance...
I'm not sure if you've reached that point with your puppy yet and I certainly hope that you don't ever experience what I did if possible (it is kinda funny looking at it now -- but I assure you, at the time I was NOT laughing!).
It wasn't Bear's fault - it was mine because I didn't understand how to train him. If I'd have known then what I know now, I would have saved a LOT of stress - and a Coach Wallet (among other things)!
After seeing the TV show, I agreed to give Bear one more chance. So, the next day we made a trip to the Barnes And Nobles book store and purchased a couple of dog training books.
We had some success... and some things just didn't work at all.
The biggest and most important thing we discovered was exactly what we focus on in Proper Puppy Training first and what I explained above. It's very important to understand, you must be the pack leader before you can train your puppy.
After that, everything else is so much easier... not always easy -- but easier.
After about a week I agreed that we were making progress my husband jokingly said that MY training was also going well... so we decided to keep Bear as long as things kept moving in the right direction.
Today, I'm so glad that we did because I love Bear and so do Michael and Bryan -- he's a part of our family now and our pack is doing fantastic.
How This Helps You...
Now, you're probably wondering what all of this has to do with you?
Looking back I wish that I had owned a simple, to the point, easy to understand puppy training guide when we first brought Bear into our home.
Truth is, I would have been even better if I had taken some time to look at the different breeds of dogs available and done some homework before adopting Bear (I cover some of this in Proper Puppy Training for you). Knowing what I know now, he was probably not the best choice for our family, but we love him and he's such a good dog now I can't imagine our home without him in it.
And that brings me to the reason I've shared all of this with you today.
You see, I've written what readers have said is...
"... one of the best, most simple to understand, practical and effective puppy training guides I've read." ~ Bryan Sexson, Raleigh NC, USA
No fluff, no fancy dog-show training methods aimed at selling you some brand of dog food or fancy DVD set with FooFoo the Poodle as the star in it (we purchased some of these things... you definitely don't want to go down THAT road.).
Just, practical and proven methods that helped us and that we've used to help our friends and family with their new puppies and older dogs as well. Puppy training tactics that work... every time.
Here is another example of the information I share with you inside of Proper Puppy Training... this example is near and dear to my heart because its how I finally helped Bear to stop going potty all over the house or when I entered the room!
No More Pottying in The House!
Here's another secret that helped me personally and I know it can help you too... accept you don't have to try a dozen other silly methods to figure out what works, I've already done that for you!
- Puppies need to potty about every
3-4
hours... and how to solve the problem of "Submissive Urination"
(this was what Bear was doing that HAD
to stop --
and did, once I went through the steps below with him!).
Did you know that If you have a puppy that seems to urinate every time you stand over her or give her direct contact then you likely need to tone down your dominance?
In fact, YOU are probably the cause of her anxiety and peeing because it's an act of submission, not a weak bladder, that's causing the problem.
- Here is the method that solved
the "peeing
problem" in about two days with Bear... I know this
will work for you also, if you have just a few minutes to try this for
a couple of days.
As you are lying or kneeling near your puppy, do not pet her for the first several minutes and then when you do, pet her under the chin or neck.
If she continues to show her super sensitive side and urinate, say in a playful voice, “OK, outside” or instead you can take out a chew toy that she prefers. What this tells the puppy is that you acknowledge her submissiveness and relate to it. Its not a reward... you are acknowledging her display of submission.
Remember - you are thinking dog here, not human.
This method works and although you might feel kind of silly doing it at first, the rewards are huge if you no longer want to have to clean up puddles every time you walk into the room or a guest visits your home.
You Want This Simple Guide
to Help You Train Your Puppy...
Because in less than ten minutes you'll be helping your puppy obey you and start being a well-behaved member of your family (her pack).
Also, it's important to get started right now, today if possible... not in a week when some videos or DVD's come to you in the mail (I remember waiting and waiting for our first video training course which ended up getting lost during the delivery and took an extra week to get to us!).
What Else
Do
You Want To Know?
Inside, I share more answers to questions you have about training your puppy. Below are a few of the things we'll cover together inside... do you think knowing these can help you with your new puppy?
For me, the answer, looking back at those
frustrating days
with Bear in the beginning, is a resounding "Yes!"
(Below are a few excerpts from Control Your Puppy to help you... these are just highlights pulled from more detailed explanations inside of the guide.)
Chapter 1: Puppy Care...
When adopting a dog, does size really matter? (pg. 4-6)
Yes and no. The insurance companies will certainly tell you "yes." The infamous “most dangerous 25” list (I give this to you inside) which lets you in on how insurance companies feel about your new puppy's breed...
You'll be very surprised at a few of the breeds listed on the chart when you see it in a few minutes, I know I was the first time I saw this list.
Mixing big dogs and small dogs can be difficult if you don’t follow some basic principle rules: (pg. 6-7)
1. Boys like
girls and
girls get along best with boys...(pg. 6)
2. Be sure that the big dog is not aggressive...(pg. 7)
3. Do not allow the dogs to be outside alone
(especially at first, when you are training them)... (pg. 7)
4. Do not favorone size or puppy over the
other.
All sizes of puppies want to be babied by their trainers and owners and
they will show you if they are being left out... (pg. 7)
Chapter 2: Top 5 Canine Myths Exposed...
Dog Myth #1 – Dogs prefer to be outdoors. (pg 8-9)
Dogs are pack-friendly animals that want to be near the people that they live with. The reason for this is because they view the home as if it is their den, their nest... and outside of the den is, well, outside the nest.
Dogs are very intelligent (some breeds more than others - which you should consider when getting a new puppy). They understand through instinct that they should not potty on the carpet.
Dogs prefer to
be closer to
the center of their den (house), and when not inside of
it, will increase their levels of unwanted behaviorsuch as; barking,
digging and whining.
Myth #5 – Dogs hate crates and its unnecessary confinement: (pg. 11)
Most dogs love crates that are comfortable. These offer a secure place of their own. It becomes there den inside a den. Of course, dogs should not be left in the crate for hours on end or so long that they have to resort to soiling their crate. It’s gross and unhealthy and the dog knows this. Puppies need to go to the “bathroom” about every 3-4 hours. Crates are wonderful tools to have while house training.
Contrary to popular belief, dogs are very happy being in their crates when these are used correctly - and - there are several options for crates today as alternatives to the familiar metal cage if desired.
There is so much more I'd liketo share with you from the 5 chapters and close to 50 pages of valuable, no fluff, information inside of the Control Your Puppy guide...
What I've given you today just for stopping by and reading my short letter are key points that you can use immediately to help you get started training your new puppy.
If you are like most folks who visit my site you are looking for detailed and specific information to help you train your puppy or your older dog and if this sounds like you too, I've got some great news.

Introducing...
"Control Your Puppy !"
The family puppy training guide written by a once frustrated, inexperienced, dog training novice and Mom (that's me!) who finally figured out the secret Keys to easily training puppies...
The methods you'll discover inside are proven, and simple for you to do... just like the examples I shared with you today. No fancy, expensive confusing tactics here - just what works!
Sometimes,
the simplest solutions
are the ones that work the best!
We purchased close to $400 on DVD's, book store books, internet dog training programs, etc. And that just during the first few weeks after I agreed to give Bear one final chance!
What I discovered is that so much of the information is basically useless and time wasting to read, watch, and wade through.
So, I put together a simple guide to training your puppy that doesn't teach you how to get Fido to do fancy dog-show prancing or circus tricks... but instead helps you to quickly teach your new puppy how to be a loving, happy member of your family...
... without chewing your shoes, pocketbook or lipstick!, pottying all over the house, jumping, biting, digging, whining at all hours of the night, and many other common issues new puppy owners experience (I know that I did).
I understand how having a poorly trained (or not at ALL trained!) puppy can take it's toll on your family and frankly - your blood pressure too! If you don't get a quick solution what started out as an exciting new family member and experience might end badly, agreed?
Bear's behavior problems only lasted a couple more weeks and once I understood the key principles I share with you, everything changed... and in a few minutes, when you download this wonderful guide to training your puppy you'll be able to enjoy your new family member like you imagined it would be.
Here's what else you'll discover inside...

can simply download a few, short minutes from now... I have spoken to a
publisher who is absolutely convinced that I need to raise the
investment and create a hard bound book instead.
You genuinely want you to have this puppy
training guide
-- so download it right now. This way, you don't have to
worry that the next time you come back, the price has doubled ... Go
ahead, the risk is all mine and the decision to start enjoying your new
puppy instead of constantly yelling or disciplining her, is now
completely up to you...
